Alla Casa Bianca è stato celebrato un minuto di silenzio, con in prima fila il presidente Usa Barack Obama, la moglie Michelle e il vice presiedente Joe Biden.
Uguale rito anche a Ground Zero, scandito da rintocchi di campana a ricordare il dirottamento dei due aerei e i tragici istanti dell’impatto.
Commozione anche sui social media. Su Twitter, centinaia di migliaia di messaggi con gli hashtag #911Memorial e #Honor911.
L’ 11/9 Museum Memorial ha pubblicato un’immagine delle due torri, formate da parole, a comporre lo slogan “In darkness we shine brightest”.
